Classic Rock 'N' Roll used to rule the strip. And record company's used to spend a lot of money on spectacular billboards.

1977. This ELO billboard featured a custom-made Plexiglas and neon space station — based on designer John Kosh's logo for the band — that cost $50,000 to produce.

1981. The Knack's second follow-up to "Get The Knack." It was a failure.

America's Sweetheart in 1978.

1978. WHO OUT THERE BESIDES ME REMEMBERS UFO?!? (*crickets*).
